Guiding and supporting Watauga High School students to their academic, personal and professional success
High School Success
Each year, youth in Watauga County graduate from classes of 20-60 students in their K-8th grade schools and transition to the county’s only high school of some 1,400 students. Navigating such a large and unfamiliar environment is extremely difficult for every teenager, even those with strong support systems. It is nearly impossible for those facing the challenge alone.
With our High School Success program, launched in September 2018, WYN students now have a role model and supportive adult to walk beside them through the highs and lows of growing up and finding their way. Decisions made in high school can affect the course of an individual’s entire life. WYN’s high school program can now build on the relationships and trust established between students and WYN during our middle school programs to point students in the direction of academic, personal and professional success. Through a partnership with fellow non-profit organization, Mountain Alliance, WYN is able to support our students throughout their high school career.
